Meet Mississauga, ON Dental Team – Square One Dental
Dr. Nicholas Hawrylyshyn - D.D.S.
Dr. Nick Hawrylyshyn graduated from The University of Toronto in 1980. Better known as Dr. Nick around the office, he has had a passion for dentistry for as long as he can remember. Dr. Nick has proudly been caring for his patients' oral health in a thriving practice for over 25 years.
Dr. Hawrylyshyn practices a full range of general dentistry, including oral surgery on wisdom teeth. He alsvbo takes a special interest in implant and cosmetic dentistry, as he is congenitally missing teeth himself.
Dr. Hawrylyshyn strongly believes in keeping his education and skills up to date. His involvement in continuing education programs is extensive and includes: acting as a demonstrator at The University of Toronto in removable prosthodontics from 1981-87, training at The University of Pittsburg in conscious sedation in 1995 and attending the Misch Implant Institute. Dr. Hawrylyshyn was a Diplomate at the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) in Berlin (2000).
Dr. Nick Hawrylyshyn is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association. When he finds a spare moment he enjoys skiing, scuba diving, sailing, tennis and golf.
Dr. Vikas Soota - B.D.S., D.D.S., FAGE
Born and raised in New Delhi, India, Dr. Soota graduated from dental school in 1997. After being granted the Fellow of Academy of General Education, he moved to Canada and obtained his DDS in 2002 from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia.
The South Asian Professionals of Canada awarded Dr. Soota with the "Certificate of Excellence" for his outstanding, and lasting contribution in the field of medical Scientology (2004). He has also successfully obtained a certificate in Implant Dentistry. Dr. Soota enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He is a huge cricket fan, and an avid supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Dr. Nancy Ting
Dr. Nancy Ting is a familiar face to all Square 1 Dental patients.
After graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, she joined the team at Square One Dental. She has been with us for over 30 years!
Dr. Ting enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and loves helping her patients. In her spare time she enjoys traveling around the world, discovering new foods and places as well as photography.
"Dr. Andrea Bernstein graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 1990 after completing her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and Physiology (1986). She has been with the Square One dental team and has enjoyed practicing Family and Cosmetic Dentistry ever since.
When Dr. Bernstein is not in the office she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering in the community. Her passions include fitness, travel, golf and reading."
Dr. Trevor Hu
Dr. Trevor Hu graduated from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco, California. He was awarded the prestigious Student Leadership award for community service.
Dr. Hu has also successfully obtained a certificate in Implant Dentistry and holds a Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Hu is an avid landscape photographer and enjoys swimming in his free time.
After Dr. Gus graduated from four years of Dental school at Case Western Reserve University (U.S.A.), he went on to graduate school for another two years of Orthodontic specialty training at the same institution. Following the completion of his Master's Degree in Dentistry, he returned to his hometown of Toronto to begin his career as an Orthodontist in Mississauga.
Dr. Gus continues to enjoy learning to this day, as he continues his educational journey by attending many C.E. courses throughout each year. Dr. Gus is also an active member of several Dental Associations, such as the AAO, CAO, OAO, CDA, ODA, and TOC. Although Dr. Gus remains passionate about his profession, he does enjoy spending time with his family.
In his spare time Dr. Gus enjoys fitness, playing golf, travel, music, and reading.
Dr. Leung grew up in Toronto, where he attended Upper Canada College for 11 years. He was an avid swimmer and badminton player in high school, and led his teams to the provincial championships. He attended New York University where he received degrees in finance and biochemistry. He loved his years in New York, as he has a great passion for art galleries, museums and the New York Yankees.
After college, he moved to Philadelphia where he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Here, he received both his doctorate and periodontics training. After 11 years away from Toronto, David finally moved back home where he gets to spend more time on his hobbies. He is also an avid cook - particularly in Asian seafood cuisine and he loves trying out new sushi restaurants. He also enjoys working out and playing softball in a local church league.
Dr. Sunita Joshi
Dr. Sunita Joshi has been a dentist for over 25 years and enjoys all aspects of family and cosmetic dentistry. She graduated from the University of Toronto where she has been an associate professor and a part-time instructor in the department of Oral Medicine since 1999. She is also involved at the local level with the Halton-Peel dental association and at the provincial level with the Ontario Dental Association. On her spare time, Dr. Joshi enjoys travelling, gardening and cooking.
Dr. Lawrence Manilla
Dr. Lawrence (Lawrie) Manilla graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 1976.
He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Alpha Omega Toronto Dental Society and the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club and attends many continuing education courses every year.
In addition to the time he spends with his family, he enjoys tennis, swimming, gardening and various sporting events and is an avid Toronto Argonauts and Toronto Blue Jays fan.
Dr. Anousheh Persadmehr
Anousheh graduated with her BSc. in Microbiology from the University of Toronto before going on to complete her D.D.S from the same university in 2009. After practicing dentistry as an associate she returned to University of Toronto in 2010 to pursue a career in Endodontics, entering the three year Graduate Specialty Program and graduating with her MSc. (Endodontics) in 2013.
Dr. Susan Banga
Dr. Susan graduated from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at The University of Western Ontario in 2012. Prior to that, Dr. Susan completed her undergraduate degree with an Honours Specialization in Biology at UWO in 2008.
Having done much of her educational background in London, Ontario, Dr. Susan worked there for the past two years. However, she decided it was time for her to come back to Toronto to be closer to the hustle and bustle of the city which she loves so much. Dr. Susan is very excited to be back in the GTA and to be working at Square One Dental.
Dr. Susan's goal in dentistry is to educate patient about their oral health and help them achieve a functional and beautiful smile. Dr. Susan wants all her patients to feel comfortable and at ease and be confident that they are receiving the highest quality of care. Dr. Susan continues her education through various local and regional study groups and organizations.
In her spare time, Dr. Susan enjoys travelling, reading and enjoying a wide variety of ethnic cuisines.
Dr. Andrew Lamantia
Dr. Andrew recently graduated from dental school at The University of Sydney in Australia. Over the past four years he has enjoyed living and traveling in Oz, and may from time to time speak with some Aussie slang... And as much as he miss the sun and beaches he is very happy to be back home in Canada. When he wasn't in clinics or classes he enjoyed discovering new restaurants and cafes with classmates or visiting the local wine regions which they frequented as an escape from the city. He also enjoy cooking at home and have been told he make some mean brownies (with caramel squares inside!). Dr. Andrew is very excited to be joining the team at Square One Dental and look forward to working with everyone!
Dr. Albert Tan
Dr. Albert Tan received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry with distinction. During his training he received additional experience in emergency dentistry as well as traveled to northern Ontario to work in under served communities. During his schooling he was heavily involved in and awarded for his contributions to the school and community
In the spirit of lifelong learning, Dr. Tan is regularly pursuing continuing education and expanding his knowledge in all aspects of dentistry. He approaches dental care with the goal that he wishes every patient to leave happier, more comfortable and more pain-free than they did when they entered! His primary concern is making sure you feel well taken care of, helping anxious patients, children & adults alike feel comfortable & at-ease. In his spare time Dr. Tan enjoys travelling, working out, playing the guitar & singing, photography, and spending time with his baby niece.
Dr. Junyoung Ahn
Dr. Jun completed the D.D.S program from the University of Melbourne after graduating from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors specialization in Biology.
Dr. Jun focuses on patient comfort and communication so that patients have a better understanding of their dental health and the treatment which they require. He is able to provide a wide range of services including restorative, root canals, crowns and bridges, and extractions to all various age groups.
Dr. Jun has lived in Australia and New Zealand before moving to Canada. He enjoys playing many different sports such as basketball (raptors fan), golf and badminton.
